Barcelona are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window, with various reports already linking them with a move for Joan Garcia.
But apart from a goalkeeper, Barcelona have shown a keen interest in beefing up their options in the attacking department.
The club, in fact, have been linked with a move for several top strikers including the likes of Jonathan David and even Serhou Guirassy, in the recent past.
However, according to a fresh report from Diario SPORT, it appears Barcelona have no desire to sign a new number nine this coming summer.
The decision to sign a main striker has been postponed until the summer of 2026, when the board will sit together the discuss the road ahead for the number nine position.
For now, the club retain full faith in the services of Robert Lewandowski. The Polish international is already coming on the back of a stellar campaign, where he finished the season as La Liga’s second-highest goalscorer.

Although Lewandowski’s form did fall sharply during the second half of the campaign, Barcelona have high hopes for the Pole to continue leading the line next season.
Barça acknowledge that Lewandowski had his best season at Barcelona under Hansi Flick, and they expect this synergy to continue driving his form next season as well.
Therefore, the Catalans have no immediate plans to shore up their options in the number nine role.
What is a priority, however, is the addition of a new winger. Barcelona are particularly keen on adding more competition for the likes of Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.
Liverpool’s Luis Diaz has already emerged as a key target for the Blaugran,a and it appears the club are ready to pay a fortune for his services.
