Barcelona legend Xavi agrees return to management | OneFootball

Former Barcelona midfielder and head coach Xavi Hernández has this week at long last reached an agreement to return to the touchline as a manager.

This comes amid the understanding that a deal has been found on the terms of a contract between the Spaniard and the board of the Dutch National Team.

Xavi, for his part, has found himself away from competitive football for over two years now. Sent on his way by Barcelona following the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign, the 46-year-old has since rejected a whole host of offers to return to the touchline.

As alluded to above, though, on Wednesday, Xavi’s long-awaited comeback has been confirmed. The info comes courtesy of market insider Fabrizio Romano, citing the likes of journalist Matteo Moretto and De Telegraaf, who report:

‘Xavi has agreed to become the new Dutch national team head coach. The verbal agreement with the former Barça manager is in place.’

Xavi, who will replace ex-Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman on the Oranje bench, is eager to find a place for yet another former Blaugrana hero on his coaching staff, namely Patrick Kluivert.
