Barcelona are back in La Liga action on Sunday evening as they play host to Getafe at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. It will be a difficult test for the Catalans against Jose Bordalas’ resilient side, especially as they will nit be at full strength.

As per Diario AS, Hansi Flick spoke on the current state of his Barcelona side going into the match against Getafe.

“What matters most to me is my team. We know what we’re going to expect. Today we trained well with a quick recovery. We have to have fresh legs. In football and in life, things change very quickly. We have to be focused on each game. We have to give everything for this club and I’m going to give my best for this team.”

Flick provides update on Barcelona injury situations

One player that Flick will not be able to count on against Getafe is Gavi, which he is devastated about. He confirmed that a decision on whether he needs surgery will be made in the very neat future.

“I hope we can see him back soon. Decisions have to be made, not today, maybe tomorrow or Monday. Then we will see. This is not the time to make the decision. We are going to wait a couple of more days, at the beginning of next week to see how it evolves and the decision that is made.”

Flick confirmed that Pau Cubarsi “is an option” for him as his knee discomfort is not said to be serious, and he confirmed further good news with Alejandro Balde. However, there is concern about Lamine Yamal, whose return date is yet to be defined.

“In the case of Lamine you have to go day by day. I think we’ll see Baldé soon, but with Lamine we have to wait.”
