Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra was one of several names discussed during a meeting between Barcelona sporting director Deco and agent Javi Garrido, earlier this week.
The two have maintained a close relationship for several years, and Garrido also represents a number of Barcelona players, as well as Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Kang-In Lee.
Despite the discussion surrounding Guerra, Barcelona are not currently preparing an offer for the Valencia midfielder, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Although the 23-year-old is held in high regard within the club, he is not currently considered a priority target for the Catalans.
However, at the same time, the meeting allowed Deco to gain a clearer understanding of the player’s contractual situation and future prospects.

Guerra currently has a release clause of €40 million in his contract at Valencia, but that figure will increase to €60 million on 1 August.
The clause was previously set at €100 million before being lowered as part of his latest contract renewal.
Despite gaining knowledge of the situation, Barcelona are not planning an immediate move for the Valencia midfielder.
However, the La Liga champions are keeping track of Guerra as well as several other players who may become interesting options in the future remains an important part of the club’s recruitment strategy.
The meeting between Deco and the agent, Garrido was largely informative. Their relationship dates back to the period when the agent represented Ez Abde, and communication between the two has remained strong ever since.

Garrido is also the representative of Tommy Marques, one of Barcelona’s academy prospects who made his debut under Hansi Flick and spent much of last season training regularly with the first team.
For Deco and the sporting department, maintaining close contact with agents provides valuable information about players who could fit the club’s plans at some point, even if there are no active negotiations.
For now, Guerra remains a player admired within Spanish football, and while there is no operation underway, Barcelona have a detailed understanding of his contractual situation should circumstances change in the future.
