Barcelona provide Gavi injury update | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an update on the wellbeing of midfield star Gavi. This comes after the Spanish international set alarm bells sounding on Sunday evening.

Barcelona were back in action a short time ago, kicking the club’s La Liga campaign into gear in a meeting with Elche.

When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a dominant 5-0 result, getting the defence of their title up-and-running in nothing short of spectacular style.

As alluded to above, though, on an otherwise superb night’s work for Flick and co, one source of concern was forthcoming on the personnel front.

Afforded a starting berth at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero, Gavi pulled up during the first-half, with what appeared to be a problem in his right knee. Ultimately forced off, Barcelona’s supporters had in turn since been anxiously awaiting an update on his wellbeing.

And as alluded to above, as much has since arrived, courtesy of Hansi Flick. Speaking to the media post-match on Sunday night, the German tactician explained:

“Gavi? Yes, it’s in the knee. We have to wait. It’s a little better than he expected when he got injured. After the game was much better. We will do an MRI and see.”
