A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona has made the call to seek out a departure from the club before the summer is out.

That’s according to Spanish outlet Jijantes, who point to Alejandro Balde as the Blaugrana star in question.

The subject of Balde’s immediate future in Catalunya’s capital has of course emerged as a prominent talking point in the media headlines surrounding Barcelona over the last couple of days.

Amid the understanding that the Spaniard no longer boasts the full trust of manager Hansi Flick, Balde has been linked with a potential move to England, with Manchester United.

And if the latest word stemming from the media on Saturday is anything to go by, then the player himself now appears to have had his head turned, too…

As per a report from the aforementioned Jijantes, following João Cancelo’s long-awaited permanent return to the Spotify Camp Nou:

‘Alejandro Balde will not continue at Barça. The defender has made the decision to seek an exit after the latest talks and feelings at the club. Jorge Mendes is working to find him a team in this final stretch of the transfer window.’
