Barcelona star Marc Casado reacts after last-minute loan move to La Liga club – ‘I’m not upset’ | OneFootball

The transfer window is officially over in Spain and FC Barcelona have assembled a team this season that is more than capable of not only retaining dominance domestically but also win the Champions League.

This, of course, has come with certain sacrifices, with Barcelona being forced to sell some of the players who did not fare all that poorly in the past.

Marc Casado is perhaps the best case in point. The midfielder enjoyed a solid season last term but had to leave on loan to Deportivo de A Coruna after the club signed Rodri in a big-money move this summer.

Before leaving for Galicia through the Barcelona airport, Casado was asked about his last-moment exit from the club.

Before saying anything, the midfielder heaped praise on his new club, Deportivo de A Coruna. “It’s a very good project, I’m really looking forward to starting,” he said.

Indeed, there is much excitement surrounding the newly-promoted Deportivo de A Coruna, a team led by former Barcelona youth player Antonio Hidalgo.

The team notably made headlines earlier in the summer by bringing in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as well as Adama Traore, two former Barcelona players.

Casado is the latest addition to the team, which looks exciting and has already racked up five points in the first three matches.

Despite his excitement at joining Deportivo de A Coruna, Casado admitted that leaving Barcelona was always a tough decision.

“Taking a year off from playing at Barça costs, but I’m excited about Depor’s project. I’m not leaving upset; I’ve already spoken with the club, and we all have things to improve,” he said.

It appears Casado does not hold any grudge against Barcelona and understands that he had to leave in order to make way for Rodri.

It now remains to be seen whether or not he can make an immediate impact at Deportivo de A Coruna and perhaps find his way back into the Barcelona fold next season.
