Barcelona star Joan García was on Monday spotted out in public for the first time since undergoing surgery.

Shot-stopper Joan was of course forced under the knife last week.

This came owing to a knee injury suffered en route to Barcelona’s La Liga victory over Real Oviedo.

The summer arrival in Catalunya’s capital is therefore facing up to an incoming spell on the sidelines, which could span as many as six weeks.

After a brief rest period, Joan’s recovery efforts were early this week kicked into gear.

The 24-year-old was spotted in attendance at the Ciutat Esportiva on Monday morning, to begin working with Barcelona’s medical team.

As per a report from journalist Carlos Monfort of Diario Sport:

‘Joan Garcia attended the Ciutat Esportiva today for the first time after undergoing surgery. He was supervised by the medical services to assess the condition of his knee following the operation. The Sallent native is positive and eager to start rehabilitation.’

And as alluded to above, upon his departure from Barca’s training ground, Joan was spotted making use of a pair of crutches, standard procedure for a player fresh off surgery:
