Hansi Flick gave the Barcelona squad two days off following their league match against Levante.
The Blaugrana secured a hard-fought 3-2 comeback win over the newly-promoted team at the Ciutat de Valencia on Saturday night.
Following their trip, Barça did a recovery session on Sunday, one which Andreas Christensen missed due to some discomfort.
Following that, though, Flick decided to hand his players two days off, with training set to resume on Wednesday.
However, according to SPORT, several Barcelona first-team players chose to report to the Ciutat Esportiva on Monday and train voluntarily despite the break.
Indeed, Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, Pedri and Inaki Pena were the players who trained in the morning today despite having the day off.
Having missed the Joan Gamper Trophy match and the team’s La Liga opener against Mallorca due to muscle discomfort, Lewandowski returned to play a few minutes against Levante on Saturday.

As such, the veteran superstar is working hard to regain his rhythm, especially with Ferran impressing as Barcelona’s starting No. 9 in the first two matches.
Indeed, the Spaniard has scored twice in the opening two matches and might have an edge over his senior teammate ahead of Barcelona’s third game against Rayo Vallecano this week.
Pedri, meanwhile, has started La Liga at the same level he ended last season, showing once again that he is one of the best midfielders in the world.
The Spanish international remains untouchable in midfield and played a vital role in Barcelona’s comeback at the Ciutat de Valencia.
As for Pena, the academy graduate attended training voluntarily even as he continues to seek a move before the transfer window closes.
Celta Vigo had shown interest in Pena, but more recently, Elche, managed by Eder Sarabia, have pushed harder to sign him. His departure would enable Barcelona to register Wojciech Szczesny.
