Barcelona winger receives support from former club after ACL injury: ‘You did it before, you can do it again’ | OneFootball

Roony Bardghji’s story took a drastic turn in recent days, and the Barcelona player will not be leaving the club this summer.

The club’s decision to sign Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon left no doubt that the Swedish winger would be asked to leave.

Earlier today, the Swedish star’s former club FC Copenhagen took to their social media to send a message of encouragement to the young star during this difficult moment in his career.

They shared a series of images of the player over his years at Copenhagen and showcasing different stages of his career. Alongside that, they wrote a message of encouragement saying,

“Stay strong, Roony! You did it before, you can do it again”

Their reference, needless to say, was to when Bardghji faced the same injury not too long ago during his time with them.

Serious misfortune

Indeed, this is not the first time Bardghji has torn his ACL, as the player faced the same setback in April 2024 when he was at FC Copenhagen.

At that time, he spent a whopping ten months out of action and worked hard to return to his best level and even earned a move to Barcelona immediately after it.

One season into his time at Barcelona, and the player has suffered the gruesome setback once more.

The development will close any chance of the player leaving this summer and also see him out of action for almost the entire season.

The message of support from his former club thus arrives as a much-needed comforting message in a complicated moment of Bardghji’s career.

Knowing that he has overcome the setback once will hand the player some optimism to look for the light at the end of the tunnel.
