Barcelona youngster set for first-team spot and new jersey number | OneFootball

An up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is set to be rewarded by the club for his ongoing efforts under the watch of first-team manager Hansi Flick.

Thats’s according to Jijantes, who point to Brian Fariñas as the player in question.

Youngster Fariñas was for his part at one point this summer widely expected to bring a close to his Barcelona stint. Amid his ongoing pursuit of senior minutes, the 20-year-old agreed to take his talents across Catalunya, to link up with Girona in La Liga 2.

Just as the transfer appeared set for completion, however, Hansi Flick stepped in. Eager to test Fariñas in pre-season, the German tactician drafted the midfield starlet into his squad.

And Fariñas went on to take full advantage of the opportunity afforded to him by Barca’s headmaster… So much so that the Spaniard is now being readied for a permanent first-team berth.

An official announcement regarding the engine room starlet’s new status at the Ciutat Esportiva is expected over the days ahead.
