With not a lot of time left before the summer transfer window slams shut, FC Barcelona are still working to finalise a couple of last-minute operations.

One such operation involves out-of-favour midfielder Marc Casado, with the Blaugrana keen on parting ways with the academy graduate and trim the squad during the final hours of the transfer window.

The Catalans have been working hard to find a solution for the midfielder, who has known his situation for months and has been assessing the various offers received with his representatives.

Deportivo La Coruna enter with force

Now, according to SPORT, Deportivo La Coruna have made a strong late push to sign Casado on loan from Barcelona. The proposal has emerged almost at the last minute, but the midfielder is seriously considering it.

Casado’s future currently appears to come down to a few options.

The first is Turkey, where clubs have been pursuing him for some time and are looking to sign him permanently.

Then, there is Bayer Leverkusen who are also interested, with a move to the Bundesliga club said to appeal to the La Masia graduate.

Deportivo’s project appeals to Casado

Now, Deportivo have also emerged as a strong option for Casado.

The Galician club are putting together an ambitious squad after returning to La Liga, making headlines with signings such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Deportivo are building a project to help them compete strongly in La Liga and avoid relegation back to the second division. And, as per the report, there is a possibility that the opportunity could appeal to Casado.

The Barcelona star likes the idea of remaining in Spain, playing in La Liga and joining a team assembling an attractive squad. He would also have the opportunity to play regularly and continue his development.

Moving to a club outside Spain would mean leaving Barcelona permanently through a transfer, whereas Deportivo’s proposal would be a loan, allowing Casado to remain under contract with the Catalans.

However, journalist Matteo Moretto adds that Barça director Deco has not yet given the green light for Casado’s move to Deportivo as he wants to assess offers for a permanent transfer.

The next few hours will be decisive as Casado weighs up all his options before making a final decision on his next club.
