London City Lionesses are close to signing Barcelona midfielder Ingrid Engen according to reports.
The Lionesses secured their promotion to the WSL for the 2025/26 season and are showing their ambition by signing the Norway international.
According to journalist Maria Tikas of Spanish outlet Sport, the player had been linked with a move to OL Lyonnes – another club owned by Lionesses owner Michel Kang – but will instead move to England.
The signing will build upon other experienced internationals that London City Lionesses signed over the last year to help them reach the top flight.
Engen began her career in Norway playing for Trondheims-Ør and Lillestrøm before moving to Wolfsburg for the 2019/20 season.
After two years in Germany, Engen moved to Barcelona where she was a part of the all conquering side that won two Champions Leagues in a row with the 27-year-old featuring from the bench in Barça's final defeat to Arsenal last month.
