Tom Bradshaw could be returning to Oakwell for a second spell

Barnsley FC are reportedly plotting a transfer reunion with former Oakwell favourite, Tom Bradshaw, as the winter transfer window enters its final hours.

That is according to Adam Oxley of BBC Radio Sheffield, with the Tykes certainly generating plenty of headlines late in the window in terms of both incomings and outgoings.

Conor Hourihane's side have continued to endure a frustrating and inconsistent season in the first month of 2026, with the South Yorkshire side currently 15th in the League One table after 25 games played.

The former Republic of Ireland international's side are currently just four points in front of the relegation zone, albeit with a plethora of games in hand in comparison to several divisional rivals.

The Tykes did return to winning ways at the end of January, though, with a convincing 3-1 home success over Stevenage, and they will hope to continue building momentum in what remains of the season, although they are also currently some 13 points behind the top six.

Despite their mid-table position, it has been well-documented that Barnsley do have several high-profile names and some of the division's strongest-performing individuals on their books, and it is no surprise that a handful of names who fall into said category are continuing to attract interest ahead of this evening's 7PM deadline.

However, it has emerged that a potential reunion between the club and Bradshaw - who enjoyed a mixed first stint in South Yorkshire which ended just under a decade ago - could be on the cards as part of a reshuffle of Hourihane's attacking department.

As previously mentioned, Hourihane's most important and creative individuals at Oakwell this season, in Davis Keillor-Dunn and Reyes Cleary, have attracted significant interest over the course of the window, with it being expected that the Reds would cash in on the former at some point.

Football League World exclusively revealed last week that Wrexham had submitted a bid for the services of the 16-goal ace, and we understand that the Red Dragons are on course to acquire the 28-year-old ahead of the aforementioned deadline.

It has also been reported that, amid interest from Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield United, Barnsley have placed an £8m valuation on Cleary.

Despite their bid to add attacking reinforcements, FLW also exclusively revealed that the League One side are set to miss out on a reunion with Jacob Brown of Luton Town. However, Oxley's aforementioned update states that Bradshaw could be returning to Oakwell.

The 33-year-old only played five times for Oxford this season under Gary Rowett, and is yet to feature in a matchday squad under Matt Bloomfield.

Barnsley FC reunion for Tom Bradshaw would be an opinion-splitter

Barnsley supporters know more than most about Bradshaw's clinicality in front of goal. However, given his current struggles, a reunion would most likely split opinion.

The eight-time Wales international has struggled to make an impact at the Kassam Stadium since his move from Millwall 13 months ago, and has also suffered injury misfortune.

As such, it begs the question as to whether he would be an adequate replacement for Keillor-Dunn in the short-term, especially when removing the sentiment which comes through a previous record of 19 goals and three assists in 93 appearances.
