Barry Bannan has led the reaction to Shea Charles' farewell message to Southampton fans after his move to Fulham was confirmed
Barry Bannan, Adam Armstrong and Tyler Dibling are among the players to have reacted to Shea Charles’ farewell message to Southampton fans.
The midfielder has officially completed his move away from the Saints in a deal worth a reported £30 million.
The Championship side are set to receive £26 million up front, with £4 million in add-ons also included in the agreement.
Charles signed for the Hampshire outfit from Manchester City in the 2023 summer transfer window, and he made a total of 63 regular league appearances for the club in that time.
He also spent a period on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, where he played 43 times in the league to help the Owls finish 12th in the table in 2024/25.
But the Northern Ireland international is now taking the step up to the Premier League with Fulham, signing a five-year contract with the London outfit.

The midfielder has thanked everyone at the club for the role they played in his journey towards this move to Craven Cottage, and the great memories that they created together.
“Thank you Southampton for the last three years,” wrote Charles, via Instagram.
“To my teammates, coaches and managers who helped me I will always be thankful.
“We shared some special memories together.
“And for the fans who supported us through the ups and downs, I am so grateful.
“All the best for the future Saints.”
A number of Charles’ former teammates have responded, including Bannan, who wrote: “What a player, it’s your time mate, go kill it.”
Armstrong also replied: “What a player and even better person! All the best big dog.”
Charles earned a lot of plaudits for his performances for the Saints, and he was particularly important in the second half of last season.
The 22-year-old played a key role in Tonda Eckert’s side as they rose through the Championship table to earn a place in the play-offs.
And while the Saints were ultimately unable to earn promotion, Charles has earned the step up to the Premier League regardless.

Fans are disappointed to see him go, but understand that it’s a deal that ultimately suits all parties.
Charles has also been praised for helping Southampton earn a trip to Wembley twice last season, having scored the winning goals in their FA Cup quarter final and play-off semi-final clashes.
Southampton begin their Championship campaign this weekend with a trip to Watford on Sunday.
