Bayer Leverkusen have completed the signing of Moussa Diaby from Al Ittihad, bringing him back on a contract running until the summer of 2031, according to BuLi News.
The 11-time France international returns after a 2019 to 2023 spell in which he scored 49 goals and provided 47 assists across 172 appearances.
Sporting managing director Simon Rolfes described Diaby as a top attacker whose pace and dribbling will enhance their attack and increase options. He praised the player’s professionalism and daily standards, adding that Diaby will be an asset to the Bundesliga as a whole.
Diaby said he arrived in Germany very young and inexperienced, and that Leverkusen showed great trust and support. He noted that Rolfes kept in touch and, when the enquiry arrived and the move became possible, he did not hesitate.
He added that the club has grown and that the chance to compete for titles with Leverkusen is a wonderful prospect and a major goal.
