Harry Kane’s future at FC Bayern remains uncertain. The 33-year-old’s contract expires next summer, and talks about an extension have been ongoing for several weeks. However, no agreement has been reached yet.

Now, a report from England is causing a stir. According to information from TEAMtalk, Kane and his entourage are apparently also considering what alternatives might arise should, contrary to expectations, an extension in Munich not materialize.

According to the report, the focus is primarily on Spain and England. In the Premier League, clubs are said to be ready to step up their efforts to sign Kane should the striker indeed become available on a free transfer. A return to Tottenham Hotspur is also being discussed as a possible scenario.

Particularly noteworthy: TEAMtalk also describes Real Madrid as a “serious option” for Kane.

Real and Barça are reportedly keeping an eye on Kane

The Royals are said to have been impressed by the England national team captain for quite some time. Should Kane not extend his contract in Munich, the opportunity to sign a striker of his caliber without a transfer fee would be correspondingly attractive.

FC Barcelona is also once again being mentioned as a potential suitor. TEAMtalk had previously reported that the Catalans are on the lookout for a new No. 9 for 2027 and view Kane as a possible candidate.

It would not be unusual for Kane’s inner circle to explore potential alternatives ahead of an important contract decision. However, this does not necessarily indicate a concrete desire to leave.

After all, the situation in Munich has not changed: Kane feels at home at FC Bayern, and both sides want to continue their partnership.

Most recently, the striker himself confirmed that several discussions have already taken place. At the same time, he made it clear that such a decision requires time and will not be made within a few days.

TEAMtalk also emphasizes that a departure from Munich in the summer of 2027 is currently considered unlikely. At FC Bayern, officials reportedly remain confident that an agreement with Kane will be reached.

As such, the situation is currently in a perfectly normal phase of negotiations. The record champions want to keep their star striker beyond the end of the season, while Kane’s camp is apparently exploring what options might be available on the market should the talks fail.

For Bayern, however, it should be clear that they do not want to leave the matter unresolved for any longer than necessary. As long as Kane has not signed a new contract, top international clubs will inevitably remain on the lookout.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, or a return to the Premier League would be high-profile alternatives for Kane. However, the most likely path currently still leads to a contract extension with Bayern Munich.
