Bayern cut transfer budget in recent seasons to upgrade club infrastructure | OneFootball

Bayern Munich's reduced spending in the transfer market over recent years is largely due to their investment in the club's infrastructure. 

TZ München reports that the Bayern has been following some strict austerity measures and spending cuts when it comes to transfers. 

This strategy enabled the club to renovate Säbener Straße and acquire the Unterhaching Sportpark for the women's team.

Furthermore, the planned construction of a basketball performance centre at the FC Bayern Campus, which the youth footballers will also use.

Though the costs of the latter will be borne by the club – all three are investments that will bring additional revenues in the long run.

"FC Bayern have always been known for being financially very sound. And we still have a bit of money sitting in our fixed deposit account.

“Everything we own, we have paid for ourselves – and it has all been paid off already,” said club president Herbert Hainer.
