In their search for a new centre-forward, FC Barcelona have apparently not found what they are looking for – at least not at FC Bayern. While there has recently been much speculation in Spain about a possible interest in Harry Kane, these headlines have turned out to be unfounded. In the „Bayern Insider“ podcast, Christian Falk and Heiko Niedderer provide clear indications of Kane’s future – and it clearly speaks for Munich.
Immediately before the Champions League clash against Arsenal , Kane himself put the rumour mill in order. „He made it clear: there is no contact with Barcelona,“ emphasizes Heiko Niedderer. In doing so, Kane exposed the persistent media reports from Spain.
Christian Falk adds that the claim from Barcelona that sports director Deco had contacted Kane’s brother Charlie is also untrue. „That has also been denied by all sides,“ says Falk.
Spain may see Kane on the front pages – but it was never realistic.

Much more exciting than the rumours, however, is what Falk and Niedderer report about the strategic plan between Bayern and the Kane side. Both parties have agreed not to enter into contract talks until after the release clause has expired. More importantly, Kane doesn’t even want to trigger this clause. „That’s a relationship of trust when he says: Hey, I’m not going to trigger it,“ says Falk.
According to media reports, Kane has a €65 million buy-out clause in his current contract for the summer of 2026, but this must be activated by January 31, 2026.
It is a rarely clear statement of loyalty – and it fits in with Kane’s recent appearance in London. In front of all the English journalists, he once again underlined how happy he is in Munich. Niedderer sums up the mood: „It absolutely didn’t sound like there was even a hint of a chance of him leaving.“
Sporting director Max Eberl has recently publicly emphasized that there are clear indications that the collaboration will be extended beyond 2027: „He feels really good, we love him, he feels good in Munich – so what’s wrong with that?“ emphasized the 52-year-old.
The reasons are complex – and all in favour of Bayern. Kane repeatedly talks about how comfortable he and his family feel in Munich. He also likes the sporting direction under Vincent Kompany, in which he plays a key role. Max Eberl, on the other hand, gives the impression of planning a long-term project with the Englishman as a central figure.
