Bayern Munich are already preparing to sign a new backup striker for Harry Kane, and they are reportedly interested in Hoffenheim attacker Fisnik Asllani

Kane has been in phenomenal form this season, scoring 20 goals in all competitions already, but the Bavarian giants need more depth in their forward department.

The German champions are also reportedly keeping a close eye on FC Koln attacker, Said El Mala, but they could face strong competition from Premier League giants, Manchester City.

According to a report from Florian Plettenberg, Bayern have added Asllani to their list of targets as a potential backup option for Kane next summer.

The 23-year-old progressed through the youth ranks at Hoffenheim and has finally shown his quality, with five goals and one assist in the Bundesliga this season.

The Sky Germany journalist claims that Max Eberl has been impressed by the forward’s development, and that Bayern have been informed of the player’s release clause.

The exciting “top striker” is expected to leave Hoffenheim next summer, and several clubs, including Barcelona, are also keeping a close eye on him.

Need for a reliable backup option

It is no secret that Bayern have been looking for a quality backup striker for a long time, and their search continues.

During the summer window,  Bayern were linked with a move for Nick Woltemade, but he chose to join Newcastle United instead, after the German side refused to meet VfB Stuttgart’s ridiculous asking price.

The club ended up signing Nicolas Jackson on loan from Chelsea on deadline day. While there is an option for Bayern to sign him permanently next summer, chances are slim that they will opt for that route after Jackson’s unconvincing start to the season.

Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic emerged as an option in recent months, but Christian Falk has informed CFBayern that Bayern have cooled their interest in the Serbian striker.
