FC Bayern clearly beat Borussia Mönchengladbach 4:1 on matchday 25. The Bayern stars in the FCBinside individual review.

Manuel Neuer: Had nothing to hold on to in the first half. Was substituted at the break, Urbig came on for him. Grade: 3

Konrad Laimer: Hardly played a profitable part in Bayern’s attack in the first half – until a counter-attack shortly before the break, which he completed beautifully with a well-placed shot to make it 2-0 after being played in by Diaz. A fine goal from the Austrian! In the second half, Laimer shot dangerously at Gladbach’s far post. A good performance overall. Grade: 2

Dayot Upamecano: Was under little pressure from Gladbach’s attack. Played a solid game without any wobbles. Mark: 3

Minjae Kim: Set up Diaz’s 1-0 with his pass to Goretzka, who provided the assist. Was very alert and strong in tackles. Kim was not ideally placed in the penalty area before conceding the goal. Nevertheless, a good game. Mark: 2

Tom Bischof: Helped out at left-back. Showed more forward drive and concentrated in defence. Fired a long-range shot that Nicolas could only fist away. Decent game from Bischof. Mark: 3

Joshua Kimmich: Had plenty of contact with the ball and made no mistakes, but left the big stage to Goretzka in the center this time. 3

Leon Goretzka: Set up Diaz’s 1-0 with his lobbed pass. Missed once up front with an acrobatic shot. Did a lot for Bayern’s play in the center of midfield. Goretzka played a lot of good passes and was consistent in his tackling. Strong performance from the national team player. Grade: 2

Lennart Karl: He hit the ball into the net in the first half after a pass from Goretzka, but the goal was disallowed due to Karl’s offside position. Then tested keeper Nicolas with a powerful shot. Karl was on the move a lot and biting in his duels. His highlight: the assist for the 4:0 by Jackson. Grade: 2

Jamal Musiala: Musiala tried very hard, but didn’t get involved in the really dangerous actions. He converted the penalty to make it 2:0 in place of Kane with ice-cold precision, which was important. Grade: 2

Luis Diaz: Finished dryly after a great pass from Goretzka to make it 1-0 for FCB. Diaz set up Laimer’s 2-0 with his cross. He was substituted after an hour. Convincing performance. Grade: 2

Nicolas Jackson: Played for the injured Kane. Jackson failed to beat Gladbach goalkeeper Nicolas with his shot from a good position. He later fired the ball over the goal from a full run. The Senegalese initiated the 2-0 on a counter-attack with a good overview. Got the penalty, which Musiala converted to make it 3-0. Then scored himself to make it 4-0 for Bayern. Jackson was therefore convincing overall as Kane’s deputy. Grade: 2

Substitute

Jonas Urbig (45th for Neuer): Had to pluck down a weak Gladbach header chance. Urbig first deflected the ball against the post for the goal, but then had no chance with the follow-up shot. Grade: 3

Maycon Cardozo (61st for Diaz): What a fairytale! The youngster only signed his new Bayern contract this week and now Kompany has given him a good half hour in the Bundesliga. Had a few touches of the ball and didn’t make any mistakes. Grade: 3

Josip Stanisic (61st for Upamecano): Finished the game well in central defense. 3

Raphael Guerreiro (61st for Laimer): Had nothing to do as a right-back, so was often able to push forward, but was unable to score anything worthwhile. Mark: 3

David Santos Daiber (81st for Kimmich): Came on too late to score
