Back in 2021, Bayern Munich brought Julian Nagelsmann in as their head coach after reaching an agreement with RB Leipzig, who agreed to release him from his contract.
Reports at the time claimed that Bayern agreed to a payment that could reach as much as €25 million – and, apparently, Leipzig are yet to receive €3 million from the German champions.
According to Bild, Saturday’s friendly between the two clubs at the Allianz Arena is part of the agreement reached in 2021, with the match expected to generate the majority of the sum that Die Roten Bullen are still owed.
If the game ends in a draw, the winner will be decided by a penalty shootout, with no extra time.
Curiously, the German tabloid reports that there’s still another friendly between the two clubs to be played in the future as part of the agreement reached for Max Eberl’s move two years ago.
