Earlier this month, PSG suffered a significant setback when Achraf Hakimi was forced off after a tackle from Luis Díaz. Hakimi left the field in tears, unable to put weight on his left foot and requiring assistance to walk.
Following a VAR review, Díaz received a straight red card, reducing Bayern Munich to 10 men for the second half. The Parisians lost the contest, but the more critical loss was that Hakimi would be out for the foreseeable future.
On November 5, PSG shared an injury update on their key defender following the injury in the loss. Hakimi suffered a severe sprain to his left ankle and will be out for several weeks. As a result, the Parisians could be in the market for a new right-back for depth purposes.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich’s Díaz finally knows the punishment he is receiving for the tackle on Hakimi. Díaz has been handed a three-match Champions League suspension, according to Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.
UEFA’s CEDB found the FC Bayern winger guilty of “serious rough play” in the clash against PSG. He received a straight red card for a foul on Achraf Hakimi.
PSG manager Luis Enrique spoke about the incident and didn’t blame Diaz for the injury to Hakimi, calling it a regular part of football and the physicality of the sport.
“We have to wait until tomorrow after the tests to know about the players’ injuries,” Enrique said at his press conference (h/t RMC Sport). “For Ousmane, it has nothing to do with the previous one.
“But he played for the time you saw. Hakimi’s situation is part of football — it’s a contact sport. It’s unfortunate. It’s tough for the players. I remember, for example, Musiala’s injury. Tomorrow will be the day when the doctors provide updates.”
