Bayern youngster Osmani chooses Kosovo and earns first senior call-up | OneFootball

Bayern Munich midfielder Erblin Osmani, 17, has chosen to represent Kosovo at senior level and has received his first call-up for the Nations League.

As reported by BuLi News, the Bayern youngster previously played for Germany’s U16 and U17 sides, and has been named in Franco Foda’s 27-man squad announced on Friday.

Munich-born Osmani joined Bayern’s academy from TSV Milbertshofen at U9 level and progressed through the ranks. He made his Bundesliga debut against Union Berlin in March at 16 years and 305 days, becoming the third-youngest player to appear for Bayern’s first team.

Bayern extended his contract on a long-term basis in July, with the deal set to convert to a professional contract when he turns 18. He is currently featuring for the club’s U19s.

Kosovo start their League B campaign against Ireland in Pristina on September 24, then face Austria twice and Israel. Osmani could make his senior international debut during this run. Under current eligibility rules, a player generally becomes tied after four official senior appearances, or one made aged 21 or over.
