Corinthians were held 2-2 by Fluminense in the second round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino on Friday night, with Belén Aquino opening the scoring for her first goal for the club.
According to Meu Timao, head coach Lucas Piccinato was dismissed after the draw. He left with assistant Brenno Basso, goalkeeping coach Francisco Rodrigues and fitness coach Luiz Guilherme Gonçalves.
Aquino has played in all five Corinthians matches this season, totalling 327 minutes. She started four, including this match, both outings in the Copa das Campeãs da Fifa and the Supercopa do Brasil.
The 24-year-old arrived at Parque São Jorge with a prolific reputation. For Internacional between 2023 and 2025 she was directly involved in 60 goals across 85 appearances, scoring 34 and assisting 26, becoming the club’s fourth-highest scorer since the women’s team was relaunched in 2017.
Corinthians return after the FIFA international break, during which Aquino will represent Uruguay. They visit Palmeiras at Arena Barueri on 13 March at 19:30 in the third round of the Brasileirão Feminino.
