Iker Casillas, a Real Madrid great and Spain’s World Cup-winning captain, has named Palmeiras as his preferred Brazilian club during an interview held on the eve of another El Clásico.
He also referenced Vanderlei Luxemburgo, with whom he worked at Real Madrid, using the single word "seriedade". He told ESPN.
Casillas took part in a set of quickfire choices, picking a favourite club in different countries and defining football figures in one word.
Among his other selections were Real Madrid for Spain, Schalke 04 for Germany, Chelsea for England, Milan for Italy and Monaco for France.
The former goalkeeper won 18 trophies with Real Madrid from 1998 to 2015, sharing a dressing room with Brazilians Roberto Carlos, Kaká and Ronaldo.
He captained Spain to the 2010 World Cup title in South Africa.
