Tottenham are not finished in the transfer market, with Ben Jacobs revealing that the North London club are still planning to make two more marquee signings before the window closes.

Spurs have already enjoyed an extremely ambitious summer, adding significant quality to Roberto De Zerbi’s squad, but their recruitment strategy appears to have entered its final and potentially most exciting phase.

Ben Jacobs shares exciting Tottenham transfer plans

Tottenham are undergoing an incredibly ambitious summer rebuild, and journalist Ben Jacobs believes the club is far from finished.

Speaking on the Last Word On Spurs podcast, Jacobs outlined the sweeping changes happening under manager Roberto De Zerbi.

“It’s obvious, isn’t it, that they’ve locked down Kinsky, they’ve brought in a backup goalkeeper, Vicario might leave,” Jacobs noted, highlighting the overhaul at the back.

“They’ve sorted out their defense. They’ve sorted out their midfield, in particular with those two statement signings of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes. And now it’s all about attack.”

Jacobs emphasized that De Zerbi was handed tremendous authority when he committed to last season’s relegation fight with a long-term plan in mind. In return, the Italian tactician was promised immense control over the recruitment model, a flexible wage structure, and a massive transfer budget.

This financial backing has completely shifted the narrative in North London. As Jacobs remarked, “It feels like an absolute age since we were saying Tottenham could go down,” with the club now heading into the new season carrying incredibly high expectations.

Spurs make Savinho bid as transfer only a matter of time

With the deeper areas solidified, Tottenham’s focus has squarely shifted to the wings.

A primary target is Manchester City’s Savinho.

Jacobs referenced the drawn-out pursuit, stating, “It feels like an absolute age that we’ve been talking about Savinho.”

Momentum is building, however. Spurs are desperate to revamp their attacking depth and find a reliable source of goals, an objective that remains partly dependent on the future of number nine Richarlison.

Jacobs is confident about the club’s endgame, predicting: “By the end of this window, we are going to see, in my opinion at least, two more senior signings and an entire squad revamp.”

A deal for the highly-rated Brazilian winger looks increasingly likely to be one of those final pieces.

As per latest reports, Spurs have made a £85m bid for Savinho, with the player also agitating for a move away after missing City’s training session.

Spurs also linked with Cody Gakpo

In addition to Savinho, Tottenham’s quest for reinforcements has seen them heavily linked with Liverpool star Cody Gakpo.

De Zerbi is a known admirer of the Dutch international, valuing his ability to play out wide or as a traditional striker.

It has been suggested that it’s not a matter of either and or between Savinho and De Zerbi, rather, the club are eying a move for both.

Securing both targets would require a monumental financial outlay.

However, given Spurs’ aggressive spending so far this summer, a blockbuster double swoop remains a distinct possibility as they look to build a top-tier attacking lineup capable of challenging the elite.
