Richard Ríos has been out since 14 January and could return in around two weeks, potentially in time for Benfica’s Champions League play-off against Real Madrid.
Record reports that he will miss Tondela tonight and Alverca in the 21st round, with a comeback pencilled in that could coincide with the tie.
Almost a month on from his injury against Porto, José Mourinho will decide whether the Colombian is ready to contribute once he is cleared.
Dodi Lukebakio could also target minutes versus Real Madrid, having returned to training this week with no limitations after a November lay-off while with Belgium.
This season Ríos, valued at 22 million euros, has played 32 matches for Benfica, 16 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 10 in the Champions League, 3 in the Taça de Portugal, 2 in the Taça da Liga and 1 in the Supertaça, totalling 2,622 minutes with 3 goals and 2 assists.
