Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly cast a glance at Benfica goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin.

They have been linked with Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez today. However, Spurs have no interest in the Argentine and will look elsewhere if they want a goalie.

Signing Trubin is not believed to be a priority for the Lilywhites, but it is a deal to watch out for. The Ukrainian would welcome a reunion with manager Roberto De Zerbi.

The 25-year-old 6ft 6ins goalie previously worked with the Tottenham boss at Shakhtar Donetsk. Trubin could be an upgrade on Antonin Kinsky.

The Benfica star caught the attention of fans in January after scoring a stoppage-time goal in a 4-2 Champions League victory over Real Madrid.

The goal helped secure Benfica’s progression to the knockout round play-offs on goal difference. Trubin was the fifth goalkeeper to score in the history of the elite European competition.

Tottenham have enough options in attack as far as goalscoring is concerned, but having a goalie capable of stepping up at the other end would be useful.

Spurs have sold Guglielmo Vicario to Juventus, while they have brought in Martin Dubravka to provide competition for Kinsky.

It is unclear whether De Zerbi will look to strengthen in the position again given the quality options available.

However, Tottenham fans will hope they have a squad capable of challenging for silverware after the summer transfer window ends.
