Benfica interest in Mathias de Amorim, Famalicão ‘to demand’ 20 million euros | OneFootball

According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica are interested in signing Famalicão midfielder Mathias de Amorim, although any move is complicated by the asking price.

The Rui Costa-led hierarchy have identified the Portugal Under-21 international as a midfield target, however negotiations are far from concluded.

Famalicão are pointing to around 20 million euros for any sale, viewing the player as a key figure. Benfica regard that valuation as excessive.

Even so, dialogue is ongoing as Benfica seek a compromise to bring positions closer. They believe there is room to negotiate, but for now they do not intend to approach the sum requested by the club.

Benfica consider de Amorim an investment for the present and the future. The file remains open and further movement is expected in the coming weeks.

In 2025/26 with Famalicão, de Amorim, valued at 10 million euros, made 33 appearances, 30 in Liga Portugal Betclic and three in the Taça de Portugal, scoring five goals and supplying two assists.
