Benfica have resolved the futures of Dodi Lukebakio and Anatoliy Trubin, deciding the pair will remain at Estádio da Luz after the Portuguese window closed. According to Glorioso 1904, the club weighed recent approaches but chose continuity.
The five major European leagues are shut, a period in which Benfica completed the signing of Echeverri, while markets in Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Brazil stay open.
Lukebakio was close to leaving in the final days. Sunderland tabled a bid of around €20 million and the winger was also linked to Besiktas. The 27-year-old is viewed as capable of playing a key role across the campaign.
Trubin’s situation differed. Losing his starting spot to Samuel Soares fuelled exit talk, prompting his representative Maryna Andriienko to explore options. Juventus made an enquiry, but an initial €40 million valuation from Benfica’s board deterred the Italians.
The Bianconeri did not submit an official offer for the Ukraine international. With primary leagues now closed, Trubin continues at the club and both players are at Marco Silva’s disposal for the remainder of the season.
