Pasion Fortinera reports that Benfica are being linked with Vélez Sarsfield winger Maher Carrizo, and Rui Costa could face a difficult chase amid strong competition.

The report adds that Manchester City, Olympiakos, Midtjylland and Feyenoord are also showing interest in the Argentine prospect.

It does not specify whether Benfica will act in the winter window, with other priorities still on the agenda, notably a possible return for Rafa Silva.

Carrizo could be viewed as a market solution after the André Luiz move fell through.

In the 2025 season with Vélez Sarsfield, Carrizo, valued at 10 million euros, has 10 goals and three assists in 36 games.
