Benfica beat Belenenses 3-1 this Saturday, October 3, at Campo Major Baptista da Silva, in a match from the 6th round of the South Series of the first phase of the National Under-15 Championship. The young Eagles came out determined and did not take long to turn their dominance into goals.

Ludgero Ebo opened the scoring after just 6 minutes, before Duarte Martins doubled the lead only five minutes later, in the 11th minute. With a strong and efficient start, Benfica managed to control the match throughout the first half and went into the break leading 2-0, putting themselves in a comfortable position for the second half.

Belenenses still managed to cut the deficit in the 52nd minute and reignite the contest, but Rui Silva’s side did not allow the opposition to build any new momentum, managing to hold off their rival’s attacks.

The Eagles took control of proceedings again and eventually put the match to bed shortly before the final whistle. In the 80th minute, Francisco Cunha stepped up to score Benfica’s third goal and make it 3-1, securing another three points for the team in red.

With this win, Benfica maintain their perfect record in the South Series of the National Under-15 Championship, making it six wins from six matches and remaining unstoppable at the top of the table. The team in red return to action next Saturday, October 10, at 11:00 am, when they host Farense at Campo Complexo Desportivo Penha in a match from the 7th round.
