Tottenham Hotspur will be without Rodrigo Bentancur for the next three months with the player to have surgery.

Bentancur was injured during Spurs' 3-2 defeat away to Bournemouth last week with the Uruguayan replaced by Archie Gray in the 86th minute with the score then at 2-2.

According to football.london, Thomas Frank will need to wait a while before his midfielder returns with the player requiring surgery for a hamstring injury.

The 28-year-old has been a near ever-present figure for Spurs this season, featuring in 20 of 21 Premier League games, also chipping in with one goal.

Tottenham are likely to reinforce in midfield this month, something that has become more critical now with Bentancur's absence.
