Bertrand Traoré weighing options after Sunderland exit as interest builds | OneFootball

Bertrand Traoré is weighing his next move after leaving Sunderland earlier this summer, with the club having decided against triggering an extension to his deal.

According to Sunderland Echo, FC Porto, Al Shabab and Nice have all made enquiries about the 30-year-old, while Premier League sides are monitoring the situation. Porto won the Primeira Liga last season and will play in the Champions League, and Traoré knows head coach Francesco Farioli from their time together at Ajax.

Traoré became a key figure for Régis Le Bris in the first half of last season after his deadline-day arrival from Ajax. An injury at the Africa Cup of Nations stalled his progress, and after a late cameo at Leeds United he suffered a recurrence and did not feature again.

Sunderland are in the market for a right winger, with AS Roma’s Matías Soulé among the options under consideration.

The Black Cats are also stepping up their push for Toulouse left back Dayann Methalie. RMC reports that talks are advanced with Toulouse, there is an agreement in place with the player, and a package of around £25 million is being discussed, with a five-year deal expected if a fee is finalised.

Strengthening the left side is a priority after Dennis Cirkin’s free-transfer exit. Arthur Masuaku is widely expected to move on, with interest from Konyaspor, leaving Reinildo as the only recognised left back going into the final year of his contract.
