Wolves are braced for summer approaches for Ladislav Krejci, with Besiktas the latest suitor, as a major rebuild gathers pace after relegation.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 27-year-old is captaining the Czech Republic at the World Cup. He became a permanent signing last week when an appearance-related option on his Girona loan was triggered, taking the total deal to £26 million including a £6 million loan fee.

Wolves would prefer to keep Krejci and do not intend to sell on the cheap. Leeds have made enquiries and other clubs are circling. Decisions on Krejci, Hwang Hee-chan and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde are unlikely before the tournament ends.

The Czechs face Mexico on Wednesday in their final group match, needing a win to avoid a likely exit.

A significant overhaul is planned, with goalkeepers Jose Sa and Sam Johnstone both expected to leave. Johnstone is on Manchester United’s shortlist as they seek back-up to No.1 Senne Lammens.

Brazilian midfielder Joao Gomes is widely expected to depart, and there is a suggestion Atletico Madrid have, for the moment, cooled their interest while assessing other targets amid concern over the possible fee.

Wolves have moved early on incomings, with Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez arriving on free transfers and another Brazilian, Andre, agreeing a new contract. New boss Cesar Peixoto is preparing for pre-season.

Support remains strong, with season tickets sold out after the final 600 were snapped up within 40 minutes on Monday morning. There will be 22,500 season ticket holders in the Championship, the same as last season, after prices were cut by at least 25 per cent to pack Molineux.
