El Correo de Andalucía reports that Betis have made Santiago Giménez, the 25-year-old Mexico international at Milan and also on FC Porto’s radar, a priority to bolster their attack.

On the same day, Milan, coached by Rúben Amorim, were said to be open to loaning Giménez until the end of the season, covering only wages and including an option to buy. That structure is viewed as attractive by Porto.

Betis had also considered Franjo Ivanovic, though the Benfica forward has since joined Lens on loan. The Seville club now place Giménez and Arnaud Kalimuendo of Rennes at the top of their list.

They are exploring loans for Giménez or Kalimuendo after days assessing alternatives to their initial target, Kévin Denkey of FC Cincinnati. Denkey is also wanted by Hull City and is priced at about 20 million euros.

Franculino Djú of Midtjylland, Moise Kean of Fiorentina and Mathys Tel of Tottenham remain on their radar, but behind Giménez, Kalimuendo and even Denkey. Giménez had also been linked to Lázio, with Gennaro Gattuso indicating the club had stepped away.
