Sky Germany reports that Al-Ittihad submitted a €40m bid for VfB Stuttgart’s Bilal El Khannouss on Tuesday night, which the Morocco international swiftly rejected as he does not want to join the Saudi Pro League.

El Khannouss joined Stuttgart from Leicester City in July for €15m. He produced nine goals and nine assists in 44 matches across all competitions last season.

After starring for Morocco at the FIFA World Cup 2026, the 22-year-old attracted strong interest over the summer. Newcastle United enquired, while Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Crystal Palace also monitored his situation.

Galatasaray made an offer as well, but Stuttgart were reportedly unwilling to entertain bids below €65m.

After losing Chema Andres to Brighton and Hove Albion on deadline day, keeping El Khannouss beyond the summer looks smart business for VfB.
