Blackburn Rovers are fending off interest from Arsenal for Igor Tyjon
Blackburn Rovers are preparing for the new Championship campaign under Tony Mowbray.
The 62-year-old is back in charge of the first team squad at Ewood Park after departing the club in 2022.
The Lancashire outfit will be hoping that he can bring the side back into promotion contention after a disappointing previous campaign.
Blackburn finished 20th in the table, narrowly avoiding relegation to League One under Michael O’Neill.
Mowbray will be looking to use the transfer market in order to bolster his options for the season ahead.
Rovers have until 1 September to complete any of their transfer plans before the market shuts for the remainder of the calendar year.

It has been reported by Alan Nixon that Blackburn are optimistic of making progress with Igor Tyjon regarding a new contract with the club.
It was feared that the youngster would depart Ewood Park amid interest from the likes of Arsenal over the last 12 months.
The Gunners had an offer for the 18-year-old rejected earlier this year, as they looked to complete a deal during the January transfer window.
However, Blackburn are hoping that they can persuade him to instead stay with the Championship side.
It’s believed that Rovers are willing to offer the teenager more money, but in exchange for him signing a long-term contract.
That would put to bed the speculation surrounding his future, although no agreement has yet been reached.
Tyjon has come through the Blackburn academy system, and is an exciting prospect with the potential to be a key first team player under Mowbray.
The youngster didn’t make a single league appearance in 2025/26 due to the uncertainty over his future, as he played twice in 2024/25, coming off the bench on each occasion.
But if he ties his future down to Blackburn, then there is no doubt that he will be given opportunities to play in the senior team next season.
Mowbray has earned a reputation for working well with younger players, and he is likely to give Tyjon an opportunity to become a key part of the side.
Rovers have made one signing so far this summer, completing a permanent move for Moussa Baradji after his initial loan spell.
The Lancashire outfit will begin their campaign away to Wolves on 14 August in the opening game of the league season.

Tyjon is a very highly-rated youngster, as evidenced by Arsenal pushing hard to sign him over the last 12 months.
If he agrees a long-term contract to stay at Blackburn, then that would be a massive boost for Mowbray and the club.
Not only could he contribute regular minutes next season, but if he can live up to his potential then he could become a very valuable asset in the years to come.
Given Blackburn’s financial position, they are reliant on producing young talent, such as Adam Wharton in the past, to generate revenue for the club through major sales, and Tyjon could be the latest to work out that way for Rovers.
