Boca Juniors have confirmed the departure of 24-year-old forward Exequiel Zeballos to Italian top-flight side Monza. The deal is worth €4.5 million, with Boca to receive 40% of any profit Monza make on a future sale.
The move was finalised on the last day of the European summer window on Tuesday, becoming the club’s most expensive outgoing of the past two seasons under president Juan Román Riquelme.
Zeballos leaves Argentine football six years after his first-team debut, having made 140 appearances, scoring 16 goals with 16 assists. He won five titles and enjoyed a standout 2025.
He had been separated from the senior squad amid a contract stand-off, with his deal due to expire mid-year. European interest followed, Napoli were first linked, but Monza’s sustained pursuit led to an agreement.
Following a brief unveiling at his new club, he has signed a contract running to mid 2030. The switch ends a 10-year association with Boca that began in the academy in 2016.
