With Dario Benedetto set to join Ligue 1 side Marseille for €16m this weekend, Boca Juniors are attempting to sign Tigres star André-Pierre Gignac.
However, if they fail to land the Frenchman, Boca may turn to Corinthians for their next striker.
According to ESPN’s Jorge Nicola, Mauro Boselli will be their ‘plan B’.
“Boselli is not Boca’s plan A. If their first alternatives do not succeed, then Boca will come on strong and I think Corinthians will accept.
“Boselli has already said he is willing to go.”
The 34-year-old made his professional debut with Boca Juniors in 2003 after four years in the academy.
After a legendary career with Liga MX side Club Leon, where he scored 118 goals in 203 games, Boselli has managed only three goals in 26 matches with the Brazilians.
