Boca have unveiled a retro kit to mark 25 years since their back-to-back Copa Libertadores triumphs, and will debut it tonight at home to Universidad Católica in a pivotal clash for last 16 qualification.
According to SuperDepor.com, the shirt carries the club badge in the centre, mirroring the 2001 strip when Boca secured their second consecutive Libertadores and the fourth in their history.
The club’s announcement celebrated 25 years of an unforgettable double, with Leandro Paredes, Santiago Ascacíbar and Tomás Aranda fronting the launch.
In 2001, Boca defeated Cruz Azul of Mexico on penalties in the final after a 1-1 aggregate draw.
That team was coached by Carlos Bianchi and featured Óscar Córdoba, Carlos Bermúdez and Mauricio Serna, along with Hugo Ibarra, Juan Román Riquelme and Marcelo Delgado.
