Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Orel Mangala (28) is a target for Serie A side Bologna, as per a report from Gianluca Di Marzio.
Matthieu Louis-Jean confirmed earlier this week that, despite the club’s qualification for the preliminary rounds of the UEFA Champions League, Lyon would have to make sales once again this summer, although the financial situation at the club is not as drastic as it was this time last year.
Mangala is a candidate for a departure. The Belgian, following his return from a loan spell at Everton, made just 14 appearances for OL in all competitions, failing to register a goal contribution in that time. It was another injury-hit season for the Belgium international, who missed the start of the season as he recovered from a cruciate ligament tear. He did, nonetheless, start five of OL’s final nine Ligue 1 games towards the end of the season, as he built up his fitness and worked his way into Paulo Fonseca’s plans.
However, he could now depart. Bologna, now managed by Domenico Tedesco, are interested in the midfielder. Tedesco knows Mangala well from his time as Belgium manager.
