Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has resumed training with his Portugal teammates following a brief stoppage.
The 32-year-old has been the Red Devils’ most vital star for the past few years, and he’s also a key player for the Portuguese national team.
Last Thursday, the attacking midfielder started for the Selecao in their UEFA Nations League opener against Wales, which ended with a 1-0 victory thanks to Joao Felix’s solitary strike. However, he was forced to stop afterwards.

After playing 90 minutes against Wales, Fernandes was dropped from Portugal’s squad for the away clash against Norway on Sunday.
The Iberians still managed to return from Scandinavia with a 2-1 victory in the absence of the Man Utd skipper, as well as Cristiano Ronaldo, who was an unused substitute.
Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus explained that Bruno had been carrying a knock for several weeks, and his outing against Wales aggravated his condition.
Portugal manager Jorge Jesus revealed that Bruno Fernandes has been playing through pain and could miss the match against Norway: “While in the game against Wales we came into it with practically all the players who were physically available, we came out of the Wales game with a… pic.twitter.com/0riGmXmR6w
But according to Record, the playmaker rejoined his teammates in training on Monday, much to the delight of the Portuguese and, more importantly, Man United.
Fernandes should thus be fit enough to feature in Portugal’s third UEFA Nations League matchday against Denmark, which will take place in Copenhagen on Thursday.
The title holders will end the extended international break by hosting Norway in Porto on Sunday.

Over the past few weeks, Bruno looked far from his best, which negatively impacted Man Utd’s performances and results.
Therefore, Jorge’s revelations about the midfield’s condition explained a lot.
Recent reports have now claimed that the captain may have hurt himself during the Champions League win over Sabah on September 10, as he was on the receiving end of some rough treatment from the opposition players.
For better or worse, Fernandes is renowned for playing through injury, so it will be up to Michael Carrick and the technical staff to protect him from his own mindset by thoroughly assessing his condition and managing his playing time.
After all, the last thing United want at this stage is to lose their most influential player for an extended period of time.
