Crystal Palace defender Borna Sosa has completed a season-long loan move to Bundesliga side Cologne for the remainder of the 2026/27 campaign.

The 28-year-old Croatia international returns to Germany after previously spending five seasons with VfB Stuttgart, where he established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s most productive full-backs.

Sosa began his career at Dinamo Zagreb before moving to Stuttgart, later going on to represent Ajax and Torino. He joined Crystal Palace in 2025 and made his debut in the Community Shield victory over Liverpool at Wembley.

The left-back made 18 appearances for Palace last season, including six during their successful UEFA Conference League campaign.

Sosa will now spend the rest of the season with Cologne as he looks to secure regular first-team football back in the Bundesliga.

The German club have not disclosed the financial terms of the temporary transfer, with Sosa expressing his excitement about experiencing Cologne’s renowned atmosphere.
