Botafogo have asked about Everton Cebolinha’s status at Flamengo, but face a difficult task in trying to sign the No 11 in this window. According to Coluna Do Fla, the General Severiano side have explored a deal.
The forward has decided he will not continue at Flamengo when his contract expires in December, though his priority now is a return to European football.
Russia and Türkiye are seen as viable markets, and he was close to joining Krasnodar recently, though talks did not progress.
Other Brazilian clubs have also shown interest, but negotiations have stalled over the salary he currently earns at Flamengo.
Despite his stance, Everton Cebolinha remains available to Leonardo Jardim. He has been left out at times for technical reasons, but in Sunday’s derby against Botafogo he came on after the break and set up Carrascal’s goal.
Flamengo have meanwhile signed forwards Anthony Valencia and Joaquín Freitas, who were officially announced on Tuesday and are training with the squad at CT Ninho do Urubu.
The club also learnt that Plata failed his medical with Dynamo Moscow, so he will return to Brazil and resume training this week. Flamengo’s next match is on Wednesday, a rescheduled Brasileirão fixture against Mirassol at the Maracanã, kick-off 19:30 Brasília time.
