Flamengo director of football José Boto asked for Kaiki Bruno to be included in talks to let Ecuadorian forward Plata join Cruzeiro, according to Coluna Do Fla.

Flamengo proposed a loan swap involving Plata and Kaiki Bruno. The Belo Horizonte club’s hierarchy rejected the idea and refused to include the Brazil national team defender, leaving no chance of the deal.

Plata appears to be nearing the end of his time at Flamengo. He has not been given opportunities under head coach Leonardo Jardim and has faced internal criticism over indiscipline.

After reports of his situation emerged, Plata removed most photos of himself in a Flamengo shirt from social media, leaving only an image from the Libertadores triumph, and he unfollowed the club.

Even so, he remains a Flamengo player. He is currently with Ecuador for the international window and, on Friday 27, he will start against Morocco.
