Boto names Prestianni among four Portugal-based players he says could fit Flamengo | OneFootball

José Boto used the international break to outline four Portugal-based players he believes could play for Flamengo at the Portugal Football Summit.

"I really like that Porto player with a strange name, Froholdt, I like him a lot. I followed him last year. I think there are plenty of players who could play for Flamengo. I really like Maxi Araújo at Sporting, and Prestianni is an excellent player as well. Then we have the Portuguese, Tomás Araújo... we have several players who would certainly fit at Flamengo." He told Record Portugal.

Among those mentioned, Gianluca Prestianni stands out after UEFA handed him a six-match ban for discriminatory conduct against Vini Jr during a Champions League tie in February 2026.

In a mid-season friendly between Flamengo and Benfica in Portugal, Prestianni was booed by Flamengo supporters, who chanted Vini Jr’s name when he came on and touched the ball.

Maxi Araújo plays for Sporting and can operate at left-back or as a left wing-back. Victor Froholdt is a Porto midfielder and a Denmark international. Tomás Araújo is a Benfica centre-back.
