Branco Van den Boomen signs for Angers from Ajax until 2029

Branco Van den Boomen has completed a permanent move to Angers from Ajax, signing a deal through 2029 after last season's loan.

According to L'Équipe, the Dutch midfielder made 15 appearances and registered one assist, helping the Scoïstes secure top-flight safety.

He joined Ajax in 2023 but struggled to establish himself, finishing with five goals and two assists during his three years there. On Friday, Ajax agreed to terminate the final year of his contract.

Before that, he drove Toulouse's 2021-22 promotion with 12 goals and 22 assists, and was influential in their 2023 Coupe de France triumph.

Angers now face a second successive campaign at this level and can lean on Van den Boomen's reliability in their survival bid under Stéphane Gilli, recently arrived in Maine-et-Loire.
