Braulio Vázquez returns to Valencia as sporting director after Corberán exit | OneFootball

Valencia have dismissed Carlos Corberán and Ron Gourlay along with their backroom staff, then appointed Braulio Vázquez as sporting director after triggering a 290,000 euros release clause to hire him from Osasuna.

Braulio, 54, returns to a club where he served as sporting director between 2011 and 2013, having earlier worked in its technical department. The club said in a statement that he will lead a new sporting structure and will be presented in the coming days.

He will bid farewell to Osasuna supporters tomorrow at 13:00, ending a nine-year spell with the club.

His first task will be to choose the next head coach following Corberán’s dismissal, then oversee a squad reshaping from January, when the transfer window opens.

The changes were made within hours, signalling a sharp change of course at the club.
